Eligibility

Candidates aspiring to appear for JEE Main must satisfy the eligibility criteria prescribed by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Before applying, students should verify that they meet the educational qualifications, age requirements, and other conditions applicable for the examination.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria

Criteria Eligibility Details
Nationality Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals are eligible.
Qualifying Examination Candidates must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
Required Subjects Physics and Mathematics are compulsory, along with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, or a Technical Vocational Subject.
Age Limit There is no upper age limit for appearing in JEE Main. However, candidates must satisfy the age criteria of the institute they seek admission to.
Number of Attempts Candidates can appear for JEE Main for three consecutive years from the year they pass Class 12.
Exam Frequency JEE Main is conducted twice every year, allowing candidates to improve their scores.
Minimum Marks No minimum Class 12 percentage is required to appear for JEE Main. However, participating institutes may have their own admission criteria.
